Jin Shin Organ Function Energy

Jin Shin Jyutsu Hand Chart:

Balancing Energy Pathways for Holistic Healing

Jin Shin Energy Healing is an ancient Japanese healing art that has been used for thousands of years to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. It is based on the idea that we all have the ability to heal ourselves through the power of touch.

Jin Shin Energy Healing is based on the concept of energy pathways that run throughout the body, and by harmonising specific points on these pathways, energy flow can be balanced and harmony can be restored.

The most unique technique in Jin Shin Energy Healing is the use of the hand chart, which is a visual representation of the body’s energy pathways which can be harmonised by holding the related finger. By holding specific fingers and toes, these pathways can be balanced and overall health and wellness can be promoted.

Jin Shin Energy Healing is not only used for physical healing but also for emotional and spiritual wellness. The practice recognises the mind-body connection and the impact that emotional states can have on physical health. By balancing energy flow and promoting emotional well-being, Jin Shin Energy Healing can help to alleviate symptoms related to stress, anxiety, and depression.

Jin Shin Energy Healing is a gentle and non-invasive practice that can be used alongside other forms of traditional and alternative medicine. It is safe for people of all ages, including infants and the elderly, and can be practiced anywhere, at any time. By learning the simple techniques of Jin Shin Energy Healing, you can gain a deeper understanding of your own body and how to promote your own health and well-being.

The Hand Chart

The hand chart used in Jin Shin Jyutsu is based on the idea that each finger corresponds to a different organ function flow in the body. An organ function flow is a flow of energy in the body that replicates the function of that organ. For example: the stomach function flow replicates the function of the actual stomach in its digestion of food, thoughts and emotions. The organ function flow may not actually pass through and affect the actual organs.

The energy pathways on the hand chart correspond to the meridians in traditional Chinese medicine, which are channels through which energy flows throughout the body. However unlike traditional Chinese medicine, the resolution process is much quicker, painless, medication and contraindication-free- you can harmonize the energy flow and help to relieve symptoms related to that organ function flow by holding the associated finger. Here is a brief overview of the finger-organ function flow connections:

  • Thumb: stomach and spleen
  • Index finger: kidney and bladder
  • Middle finger: liver and gallbladder
  • Ring finger: lung and large intestine
  • Little finger: heart and small intestine

Thumb: Stomach and Spleen

The thumb is associated with the stomach and spleen organ function flows, which are both part of the energetic digestive system. By holding the thumb, energy flow in the stomach and spleen meridians  can be re-balanced, which may help to alleviate physical symptoms like indigestion, bloating, and nausea; and the mental-emotional project of Worry.

Index finger: Kidney and Bladder

The index finger is associated with the kidney and bladder organ function flows, which are both involved in the elimination of waste and regulation of fluid balance in the body. By holding the index finger, energy flow in these meridians can be re-balanced, which may help to alleviate physical symptoms like urinary tract infections, incontinence, and fluid retention; and mental-emotional projects of anxiety and depression.

Middle finger: Liver and Gallbladder

The middle finger is associated with the liver and gallbladder organ function flows, which help the metabolism of fats and detoxification of the body. By holding the middle finger, energy flow to these meridians can be re-balanced, which may help to alleviate symptoms like headaches, indigestion, and menstrual cramps.; and mental-emotional projects of anger and frustration.

Ring finger: Lung and Large Intestine

The ring finger is associated with the lung and large intestine organ function flows, which are both involved in the exchange of oxygen and removal of waste from the body. By holding the ring finger, energy flow to these meridians can be re-balanced, which may help to alleviate physical symptoms like asthma, allergies, and constipation and mental-emotional projects such as grief and low self-esteem.

Little finger: Heart and Small Intestine

The little finger is associated with the heart and small intestine organ function flows, which are both involved in the absorption and distribution of nutrients and the regulation of the cardiovascular system. By holding the little finger, energy flow to these meridians can be re-balanced, which may help to alleviate symptoms like heart palpitations, insomnia, and anxiety; and mental-emotional projects such as workaholism, over-achievement and inauthenticity (‘Trying-to/ Pretense’).

Mind-body connection

One of the key principles of Jin Shin Energy Healing is the idea that the mind and body are interconnected, and that emotional states can have an impact on physical health. There is ample scientific evidence to support the idea that emotions can have a powerful impact on the body, and that practices like meditation and mindfulness can help to reduce stress, anxiety, and other emotional symptoms. The use of energy points, the existence of meridians, and the mind-body connection all suggest that Jin Shin Energy Healing and other similar practices may have the potential to promote physical and emotional well-being.
When integrated into functional voice work in our Jin Shin Voice, Jin Shin energy healing allows us to train a functional voice on regulated nervous system, which will be invoked  whenever the client sings or speaks with proper technique. However, as with any alternative therapy, it is important to approach Jin Shin Jyutsu with an open mind and to consult with a healthcare professional before beginning any new treatment regimen.
